On Friday, April 18th JobTrain students and staff participated in a special “How to”  training event hosted by LinkedIn at their Mountain View headquarters to learn about the different ways that people can benefit from the power of online networking.

LinkedIn provides a valuable resource for students to network with industry professionals who are directly connected to companies with potential job opportunities.  Michael, a JobTrain Business Administration student took the opportunity to  announce to the group that he was recently hired at a new job after completing his profile on LinkedIn.

JobTrain would like to thank Kellen Freeman, Enterprise Services Specialist in the Global Customer Operations department at LinkedIn and Akansha Agrawal, Associate Campaign Manager at LinkedIn, for coordinating and hosting this wonderful opportunity for JobTrain’s students and staff.

LinkedIn, in an effort to constantly improve their services, would like the participants of this event to complete a short survey which can be found here: https://www.linkedin.com/groups/JobTrain-Alumni-Association-6570651?home=&gid=6570651

JobTrain has also established a “JobTrain Alumni Association Group” on LinkedIn.  This group offers a unique place for graduates to stay connected with one another regarding employment related needs and opportunities.  Graduates can support each other by sharing job search advice, leads and successes.  JobTrain Counselors and Job Developers also use this platform as a communication tool to help students after graduation.

JobTrain graduates can also join relevant groups to find out what’s happening in their field.  Because LinkedIn operates the world’s largest professional network on the Internet with more than 175 million members, students are able to maximize their search and become smart job seekers.
